Hey there! My name is Alessa Baker, also known as Codekitten. I’m a Technical Artist and Tools Developer in the Games Industry for the last 8 years.

I created this website with the intent to collect all resources I find on extending Unreal Engine, developing tools on Slate and C++, and to keep a working portfolio of all the projects I’ve worked on.

My hope is to create a large resource on learning how to create tools for the engine, and to get you started from the basics of plugin development all the way up.

When I was 13 years old I started with Source Engine working on some mods, also experimenting with Unreal Engine 2, but officially moved to Unreal Engine 3 with the release of Unreal Development Kit.

In 2015 I started a freelance studio working with engine consultation and Architectural Vizualization, creating housing demos for Samsung Gear VR devices. I also freelanced and worked on a number of titles.

I also joined Quixel, working on tutorial content, community management and assisting with the Megascans conversion pipeline. I have also shipped a VR experience, Homebound.

In 2018, I moved to Germany, working at DeepSilver FISHLABS as a Technical Artist. I have worked on two titles with them, one of which Chorus has shipped in December of 2021.
